The 87th MCL National Convention Pistol Competition is currently under the final planning stage.
Check back in Febuary for details.
2010 Pistol Competition
This competition is strictly for fun, camaraderie and to learn from each other. Awards will be given to the top three shooters only.
Safety is the most important element of this event. We will be shooting at the Guilford Sheriff Department Range, there will be no participation in the competition of anyone under the influence of any substance, controlled or prescribed.
- We will be using MCL National rules for a standard 25 yard postal pistol competition. The link with proper rules and regulations is on MCL260.ORG on the Shooting Team page. Please only bring the proper qualified .38, 9mm, or .45 pistols as stated in rules and regulations.
- We will provide safety glasses, and soft foam earplugs. If you have your own that you prefer, please feel free to bring them.
- This event is limited to 100 shooters.
- Transportation will be provided to and from the hotel. If you need to attend meetings during the day, let us know so we can make every effort to allow you to shoot early.
- Due to the nationwide shortage of pistol ammunition, we will not be able to supply ammo. You must bring your own. For those who are flying, please check with the airline you use regarding the transport of ammunition and firearms. There is no limit to the amount of small arms ammunition (.75 caliber cartridges and below) that may be carried in checked baggage as long as it “securely packed in boxes or packaging specifically designed for carrying ammunition.” No loaded firearms permitted on the aircraft.
- Competition will be held rain or shine.
- There will be a registration fee of $40 to compete.
